Def Leppard is on the short list of artists who have seen an album achieve Diamond certification by the Recording Industry Association of America, signifying sales of 10 million copies. The band has scored the honor twice: with 1983's Pyromania and again with Hysteria. Both of those sets were recently named in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's "Definitive 200"--a list of 200 albums that the Hall says every music lover should own. Over its legendary career, Def Leppard has sold more than 65 million records worldwide.

REO Speedwagon, which formed in 1968, has produced 17 albums and has more than a dozen Top 40 singles under its belt, including No. 1 hits "Can't Fight This Feeling," "Keep On Loving You," and "Time For Me To Fly." To date, the band has sold 40 million albums.

Styx broke on to the music scene in 1975 with the ballad "Lady.” From 1977 until 1984, every one of their releases sold platinum or better: The Grand Illusion (1977), Pieces of Eight (1978, 3), Cornerstone (1979), Paradise Theatre (1981) and Kilroy Was Here (1983). Their long line of hit singles include "Come Sail Away; "Fooling Yourself (the Angry Young Man)," "Blue Collar Man (Long Nights)," "Babe" and "The Best of Times" and "Too Much Time on My Hands".
